In 2020 Georgia Power demolished the “Plant Kraft” power plant that had stood for 60 years and cleared the site. In 2021 Georgia Ports Authority purchased the property from Georgia Power for a new terminal. The new “NFI” land terminal was constructed and opened up in October of 2023. It is designed for “Stuffing Operations” which means that products are brought in by truck and put in a “Container” to be shipped overseas, hence being “Stuffed”. Once that is completed the containers are moved to the port for shipment. There is no ship access at this terminal.
